I have been working professionally in make-up for 16 years. In 2003-2004, I completed my beauty, character and advanced prosthetics certifications from Joe Blasco Make-Up Center East. I am experienced in many different areas of makeup artistry, from a subtle, natural look all the way to high fashion, avante garde, red-carpet glam to special make-up effects and horror.
From the moment I begin working with a client, whether it is a first time appointment or after many years, it is important to me to provide an experience that makes every individual feel special. My kit is comprised of high quality, trusted products. Some of those products include RCMA, Ben Nye, Mehron, Premiere Products/Skin Illustrator,Kat Von D, Urban Decay, Sonia Kashuk, NYX and more.
I want you to be completely happy during your appointment and also with your finished look! Having your make-up done is very personal and something that I believe should be comfortable and pleasant. I take great care and listen actively to my clients, working closely to establish a finished look that they love. I have worked with a number of celebrities and this standard of professional service applies to each and every client.

An exploratory session to design the perfect, lasting look for you for the big day. Whether your vision is a clean and natural beauty look, classic retro glamour, a modern smokey eye or maybe something else entirely- we will spend this time creating the right look for YOU and your vision. My wedding had a Sleepy Hollow theme and I have made up brides in many different styles. It is an honor for me to be a part of such a special time!
Make-up session on your wedding day. This includes arriving early to have you ready in time for photos or travel and staying after the ceremony for pre-reception touch-ups or day to evening make-up tweaks. Touch ups include bride, groom and wedding party if made up.
I am happy to include additional make-up applications as part of your wedding day. This can be discussed and added on a "per face" basis.
I am an acrylic painter but also work in other mediums such as watercolor, sculpting, oil pastels, paper mache and pencil/charcoal drawing. Art has been a passion in my life since childhood. Custom art, original art and prints of past work are available. Priced by size, detail and medium/materials. Along with the work that I do which is considered expressionism, I am happy to help bring your original concepts to life, to paint portraits of people and pets in a variety of styles, to paint educational and whimsical decor for children and explore abstract, surreal ideas.
A new Etsy shoppe as well as galleries and artwalk events are in the works for 2019.
"I’ve worked with Carrie Sims on multiple photo shoots over a course of at least 5 years. Not only is Carrie super-professional, she’s an excellent help with preproduction. She has personally been a big asset for location scouting, suggestions for concept, and has been a major factor in the success of photoshoots. There are some types of shoots I wouldn’t do without Carrie. As a makeup artist, I’ve been really impressed with her abilities. Being a great makeup artist is wonderful, but as a photographer, having someone on set who understands the production process and can execute complicated ideas with no stress is a major asset. I would highly recommend her for any production!" - Toni Riales, Photographer
"Carrie Sims is a joy to work with. Not only is she fun to have around, she does very creative & glamorous make-up." - Melora Creager, Rasputina
"Carrie has been my make-up artist since 2009! She has unbelievable energy and I named her the Iron Makeup Artist. She always keeps a cheerful and positive attitude!! Carrie has helped me push the limits and go beyond where I thought I would be on a number of projects, always with tremendous results." - Onyx Love
"Carrie is a wonderful makeup artist. Not only is she good at what she does she makes every job special to her. She has been doing my makeup for years now and never has done a bad job. She listens to my ideas and is very personable and every art is unique. Carrie is an A+ artist." - Savana Jade Wehunt
"Carrie has provided phenomenal make-up for me on several occasions. She is wildly talented and diverse in her craft. Carrie has transformed me from a holiday pin-up model to a glam rock icon. She created a fantastic retro look for band press photos and also provided my subtle sophisticated make-up for an evening gala event. Carrie is highly recommended, professional, and a pleasure to work with!" -Stephanie Roman
